【Anti-Doping】Japan Sport Fairness Commission

KONO Ichiro, the member of OPOP, acts as the representative director of the Japan Sport Fairness Commission (J-Fairness).

 

About the J-Fairness

 

The J-Fairness is the Japan Sport Fairness Commission.

It was established in November 2018 for doping inspection activities in Japan.

 

The J-Fairness independently operates the committee which formulates a basic policy for anti-doping in Japan. And the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) conducts the inspection.

 

Multiple organizations such as the Japan Sport Association (JSPO), the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), the Japanese Para-Sports Association (JPSA), etc. have joined the J-Fairness.

KONO Ichiro(Representative Director, J-Fairness)

Specially Appointed Professor / Special Advisor to the President, University of Tsukuba

 

He is the vice president of the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the board member of JADA.

 

He was the committee member of the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee, the executive board member of JOC, and the president of the Japan Sport Council (JSC).

From the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games to the Beijing 2008 Games, he served as a team doctor and headquarter officer for the Japan team.

He also contributed to bringing the Rugby World Cup 2019 to Japan as the director of the Japan Rugby Football Union. (currently appointed as an advisor to the union)

 

 

OGATA Mitsugi(Director, J-Fairness)

Professor, Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences, University of Tsukuba 

 

He is the senior executive board member / general manager of JOC and the senior managing director of the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF).

He served as a headquarter officer at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
