“The Meeting for Exchange through Sports and Symposium” was held

“The Meeting for Exchange through Sports and Symposium”, the event organised by Education Bureau of the Laboratory Schools, was held at Junior High/ Senior High School, University of Tsukuba on 9 December 2018.

 

This meeting aims for not only foster and raise consciousness for the inclusive society, but also disseminate the significance of the inclusive society through three events; (1) listen to a lecture by a former Paralympic athlete, (2) held a symposium based on students’ experiences beyond disabilities (i.e. short trip at Kurohime-kogen) and (3) exchange via para-sports.

 

 

The Events Held

  • (A) Lecture
    “Living with Various People” by Ms. Taemi AKIMOTO, Para-athlete
    A para athlete who graduated from Special Needs Education School for the Physically Challenged, University of Tsukuba and succeeded as Botcha representative at the London Paralympic Games. She is now active as a representative of “CIL Chofu”.
  • (B) Symposium
    (1) Introduction of short trip at Kurohime-kogen (watching DVD including audio guidance by students)
    (2) The gift we got from short trip at Kurohime-kogen (panel discussion by students of laboratory schools)
  • (C) Para-sports Exchange
    Play “Botcha” and “Kick-ring” (“Kick-ring” is a para-sports developed by Senior high School at Sakado, University of Tsukuba.)
